*03-REMEMBER
(Mindy Johnson, John Nanni)

Noah by his faith and holy fear built him an ark
Two of every animal and then the skies grew dark, now
Faith is being sure of what we hope for
And certain of what we don’t see remember

Abraham and Sarah they were barren yet blessed with child
Abraham when tested offered Isaac his sacrifice
Faith is being sure of what we hope for
And certain of what we don’t see remember

Bridge
Remember Sunday school when you were just a child
Remember all those stories, they’re still alive

Moses went to pharaoh and he set his people free
Moses by his faith, he took his staff and split the sea, now
Faith is being sure of what we hope for
And certain of what we don’t see remember
Remember

Behind the Song

In reading the book Hebrews I came across 11:1.

"Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we don't see."

And surrounding this verse is story after story of individuals who had faith and though they didn't always know the who, what, when, where or why...they followed God's direction or commanding summons.

These are more than fairytales.  These are stories, historical documents of what actually happened to real people.

And the more I camped on that, that these people were real, the stories are real, and that we share the same Heavenly Father who calls ME to be obedient, the more alive these stories became.  I started putting myself in their shoes.

What would it have been like to be Noah on the ark, when the door shut and his extended family was still outside, perhaps pounding on the door to be let in?  (His wife, sons and their wives were with him.)

We need to remember that God came through with Noah!  We need to remember God came through with Abraham!  We need to remember God came through with Moses!
We need to remember that these were real people just like you and me.
